Caring for a Living Christmas Tree
By following the following instructions, you should be able to enjoy your tree to the fullest, both in your home and in your yard!
- Climatize or transition your Christmas tree by placing it in your garage or on your porch or deck for a few days before bringing it inside.
- Water the Christmas tree thoroughly while maintaining outside.
- You may keep your Christmas tree indoors for no more than 5 to 7 days.
- While inside, each day put ice on the surface of the soil to keep the roots cool, and the tree watered. Your room should be kept as cool as possible. Avoid placing the tree near heating vents, fireplaces, and appliances.
- Protect your floor and carpet from spills and/or pot seepage.
- Avoid using spray flocking, which will harm the tree.
- Keep the number of lights to a minimum and only leave them on for short periods of time.
- After making memories around your tree, reacclimatize or transition your Christmas tree to the outdoors. Keep your tree in a protected, but cool area outside (in a garage, under a deck, on a porch, or near a building). Leave your tree there for one to two weeks, or when the temperature outside warms above freezing before planting it in your yard.
Thank you for using a live Christmas tree to celebrate your family tradition! Snowshoe Evergreen, Inc. cannot guarantee holiday trees that have been removed from their native environment. Accordingly, there will be no refunds, exchanges, or returns on live Christmas Trees.
